Concours Charities

The Gainesville Country Club Foundation is the charitable arm of the Gainesville Country Club. The Foundation has chosen to partner with three well deserving organizations to increase awareness for these important causes and to raise funds for their work. Proceeds from the Concours d'Elegance will benefit the following charities:
Giovanni Linscheer Scholarship Fund
Giovanni Linscheer was a University of Florida swimmer who competed in the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games. Linscheer held the national record in the 50-m freestyle for more than 10 years. He was tragically killed in a car accident in 2000. He was a warm and caring person who loved swimming, the University of Florida, his engineering career and his friends. This fund is named in his honor and is designated for college students pursuing a degree at the University of Florida in engineering who come from low-income families.
EA Sandhill
Sandhill Stables Thoroughbred Rescue Foundation
The Sandhill Stables Thoroughbred Rescue Foundation is dedicated to providing a permanent home to thoroughbred race horses that have retired from their racing careers.  Horses entering the stables will be rehabilitated, nurtured and, in some cases, retrained to provide equine therapy for individuals suffering from different disorders, including victims of child abuse and PTSD.

The Center is a place where professionals – social workers, counselors, law enforcement officers, state attorneys, victim advocates, medical professionals and others – work as a team to coordinate investigations and interventions for each child abuse case. This collaboration expedites each child’s time in the legal system and ensures that children are not re-victimized by the system and that they and their families are provided the support and services needed. The Center advocates for children in the dependency, civil and criminal court systems. The Center also provides play therapy and trauma symptom reduction services.
